Running with GE Proton and medium settings is perfectly playable, but not perfect. Game has occasional stutters, otherwise seems to work.
Minor crackling, fixed by using GE Proton

Videos in game did not work with stock proton, GE Proton fixes both tutorial and cutscene videos
Requires GE Proton to fix more major problems
no controller support, suprisingly demanding, text can be hard to read, RTS missions controls are bad

overall playable, but with a few drawbacks and some necessary customization
At the Information Site the Example Videos dont play correct.
I tried it with GE Proton first, works fine with no issues.
Then I tried it with Proton Experimental, it seemed like the game run a bit better (might be that I changed graphic settings though!) but the tutorial mini-videos didn't play.
I suggest just using GE-Proton8.24 - the videos work fine in there and I had no other issues so far :)
