Windows mode runs flawlessly with out any issues or controler re-configs. PS1 mode will require some controler config for the joystic and game is not in full screen mode. I also had issues saving in PS1 mode.
This is for the Windows/N64 version. The PS1 version always worked (as it's an emulator) but is janky.

Some trouble with alt-tabbing while in Fullscreen
Took a while to start up
As of patch 1.1 this now works in Proton; I tried it without changing my compatibility settings from testing pre-1.1 so this may work without the launch options. The game took a while to load but otherwise seems to work fine.
Most people would want to play the N64-port, which is unplayable. Would not recommned until that's fixed.
Buttons not mapped properly in PS1 mode, had to manually remap in the emulator settings (press ESC)
Game contains two versions: the actual new verison, which is a recompiled port of the N64 game, and the PS1 version which runs as a ROM in an emulator. The N64 one does not run at all. The PS1 one runs fine; it can't save but that's a game bug not Proton bug. Use emulator save states to save.
Game starts minimized
I was not able to save my progress on the game
I'm only able to launch the PS1 Version and not the N64 one.
The N64 version of this game is the one most people played back in the day, being able to play that version seems like the selling point of this port, specially when the PS1 version is not that great and almost feels like an emulator running the game instead of a port.
Not being able to play the N64 version is pretty bad as that is the version most people played back in the day.
Game started minimized
I was only able to launch the PS1 version, if you try to launch the N64 the game will simply not launch.

Controller buttons displayed in game are for a playstation controller. I was using an xbox 360 controller however and the joystick did not work (dpad only) and the apparent position of "square" (x) and "triangle" (y) were switched. Game runs pretty consistently at 60fps but the physics seems to "lag" occasionally though its not coupled to the framerate
