Finished it without issues
Finished the game actually without any issues. Works perfectly out of the box.
Works out of the box with no encountered issues after 7 hours of gameplay
Stutters on dialogues
Experienced some stutters on dialogues, but I can play and save the game as it supposed to be.
Runs good, I guess. Sometime stutters on dialogue but save game and overall graphics are good as the pc spec goes

No window mode, only fullscreen
Played with Proton 6.3-7 and option PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Except for the save game system that don't works

Proton-4.19-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-4.19-GE-1
PhysX needed to be installed to the wine prefix:
WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/11140/pfx/ ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d/Proton-4.19-GE-1/dist/bin/wine msiexec /i ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Sherlock\ Holmes\ The\ Awakened\ -\ Remastered/Support/PhysX/PhysX-9.12.0213-SystemSoftware.msi

I have manually installed PhysX, as per previous report, and game worked well after that.

Follow up to my previous report where I said it was borked, on my primary system. The present is with my secondary system, an Asus gaming laptop with a GTX950. These three games (The Awakened, versus Jack the Ripper and Nemesis) require that you install PhysX MANUALLY, for some reason the preparation from Proton does not yield PhysX installed. You can either run the accompanying package in the Support/PhysX directory of the installation directory /common/, download from nvidia the latest legacy package or install those from the versus Jack the Ripper version if you have them (found these to be the most reliable ones, by the way). To install an msi with proton, run in a terminal: WINEPREFIX=path_to/compatdata/11040/pfx <path_to/Proton\ 4.2/dist/bin/wine msiexec /i /PhysX-######-SystemSoftware-Legacy.msi (if you download the .exe, no need to use msiexec!!)
Game will not launch at all.

The game used to work with early Proton (~3.7-4) versions, ever since 3.7-6 it stopped. It does not work either with Wine 4.5-staging from distribution's repositories, broke somewhere around 4.2 and 4.3.

Great performance
